Allison Goodman

Artistic Director

Allison Goodman first started working with color guard programs in 2009. She later became the Color Guard Director at Millard North in 2013. She currently directs the Fall Color Guard for Marching Band and teaches the Millard North Winter Guards. During her tenure at Millard North, the Color Guard has tripled in size. The Guards have consistently improved placements under Allison’s leadership, earning several awards in both fall and winter seasons. 

 

In addition to her Color Guard duties, Allison teaches Business Classes at Millard North and runs a very successful DECA Program. She has served executive leadership positions with the Nebraska Association of Marketing Educators and was recognized as an outstanding DECA Advisor in 2016, 2018, and 2020. Allison has also served on the executive leadership board for Heartland Winter Arts Association (HWAA). 

 

As a founding director of Dolce Independent, Allison is looking forward to bringing more winter guard opportunities to the Omaha community. The last several years she has focused on designing and creating visually appealing programs. She looks forward to bringing this skill set to Dolce Independent. 

 

Allison Goodman is a 2012 Graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed her Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction through Doane University in 2017.

David Baker

Education Director

David Baker has been teaching color guard since the Fall of 2014 where he started at Ashland-Greenwood High School. In the spring of 2017 he was invited to teach at Bellevue West High School and has been the Director there since 2018. David’s teams consistently finish in the top tier of their peers in local and national circuits, earning several accolades and awards. Currently, he also holds a technician position with the Academy Drum and Bugle Corps from Tempe, AZ. 

 

In his first few years of teaching David also performed with the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps as a color guard member from 2016-2018. While there, he received Color Guard Member of the Year and went on to win the 2018 DCI Performer’s Showcase in the Ensemble Flag division. David also marched three seasons with the Railmen Winter Guard, who is a consistent WGI semi-finalist. 

 

David's role in Dolce will primarily be focused on the education and training of members. He hopes to inspire current and future generations of spinners to push themselves to be their best possible versions through commitment to detail, strong work ethic, and empathy for one another.
